Terrazza Toscana @ 742 W 9th Avenue (between 50th St & 51st St)

Matt and I were originally going out for lunch at Blockheads at the Worldwide Plaza on 49th between 8th and 9th. BUT! He didn’t have the address so we ended up walking around. Starving all morning, we just chose any place with a hearty meal. Located on a corner, this Tuscany-based restaurant, Terrazza Toscana had tempted us to go in to ask if the rooftop was available. It was such a beautiful sunny day, we wanted to relax and eat outside. Service was not that great. We had to ask for bread and butter, fresh parmesan cheese, and then during our meal, water refills. They weren’t as attentive since they did not come back to check on our meals. As for dishes, Matt had decided on a grilled salmon salad. Boring! =P Somehow, I ended up with the Fettuccine Con Gamberi e Asparagi (shrimp and asparagus fettuccine). Shrimps were plump and juicy. Most importantly, they were deveined! Asparagus was cut to a good length, fresh and crunchy. The delicious sauce was perfect because I wish they had added more! Taste wise, it was good, but not spectacular. For about $22 a plate, it was too expensive! It was a dish I could of easily cooked up at home.

Inspired by their white wine pasta dish, I decided to take a spin on it and make it my way :) Spicy Italian sausage, fresh roasted asparagus, and red tomato based sauce.
