So I had not seen Yammy in forever. I told him I was on a pork chop over rice phase and he introduced me to a new place to grab quick Taiwanese food.

Excellent Pork Chop House - Noodle and Chicken Leg

Wilson ordered a simple noodle soup (pickled mustard greens on the side) and it comes with a choice of a quarter chicken (leg and thigh) or pork chop. The chicken was moist, fried to perfection, and the noodle soup was light and delicious. Not too salty for a base because the pickled mustard greens complemented it well.

Excellent Pork Chop House - Pork Chop Over Rice

Pork chops over rice is a classic Taiwanese staple. What makes a great pork chop are seasonings (mainly soy sauce and Chinese 5 spice) and a nice golden brown and crispy sear to the cut. The sides of pickled mustard greens and ground pork sauce with a whole boiled egg are also a must to complete this simple dish. As for this pork chop, I don’t think it was tasty enough. Maybe there wasn’t enough seasoning because it tasted bland. For the price (under $5), it sufficed. However, there wasn’t enough magic in this bowl of pork chops over rice for me to return.
