New York City: Giorgio’s of Gremecy

on July 13, 2011

July 13. Charmin Bear J’s birthday lunch.
Had a nice date and stroll through Gremecy. Stumbled upon this quaint American restaurant on a super hot day.

Giorgio's of Gramercy - Honeydew and Mint Soup

Started off with a chilled soup made of pureed honeydew and mint. Raisins were sprinkled throughout the bowl as well. Absolutely refreshing, but I think I would rather eat this for dessert since it was so sweet.

Giorgio's of Gramercy - Tricolor Salad

The tricolor salad had a mixture of radicchio, endive, arugula, pine nuts, carrots, and parmesan. Lemon vinaigrette was drizzled and tossed throughout. Savory dish with different textures.

Giorgio's of Gramercy - Seared Scallops

These scallops for my entree were pan seared perfectly. Delicate seafood like scallops and shrimps can be easily overcooked. I didn’t care much for the bed of carrots.

Giorgio's of Gramercy - Filet Mignon

I had a piece of the beef. Not too bad but it wasn’t as goood as my scallops. Very heavy to be eating steak on a hot summer day. The presentation wasn’t as nice either. Looks sloppy. Too much jus for that chunk of steak.

Giorgio's of Gramercy - S’more Bread Pudding

This dessert was very unique for me. I dont usually eat bread pidding or smores. The two combined flavors gave the dessert a whole different taste profile. Quite delicious! Heavy though, especially for a summer day.

Servers were attentive. Decor was modern and clean. One of Zagat’s top rated restaurants in the Gramercy Park! I love how you can also order online and get the food delivered.
